He reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. Tyson won his first 19 professional fights by knockout, 12 of them in the first round.
Claiming his first belt at 20 years, four months, and 22 days old, Tyson holds the record as the youngest boxer ever to win a heavyweight title.
He was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, as well as the only heavyweight to unify them in succession.

Boxing legends and former rivals Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield are all set to enter the ring as partners for their new fight- the legalization of cannabis.
The collaboration that was announced on Monday comes over 25 years after the duo’s infamous heavyweight championship match in 1997, in which Tyson was disqualified for biting a chunk off of Holyfield’s ear.
The former opponents are reuniting to launch a line of cannabis-infused edibles called ‘Holy Ears’ under the newly formed cannabis firm Carma Holdings, which also houses Tyson 2.0, Tyson’s existing cannabis company. Holyfield also plans to launch his own cannabis line next year.
In a statement, Tyson said, “From Mike Bites to Holy Ears, now cannabis fans around the world can experience the same wellness benefits that plant-based products have brought me,” further adding that it is a ‘privilege to reunite’ with his former rival.
Holyfield said, “Mike and I have a long history of competition and respect for one another. And that night changed both of our lives.
Back then, we didn’t realize that even as power athletes, we were also in a lot of pain. Now, nearly 20 years later, we have the opportunity to share the medicine we really needed throughout our careers.”
Mike Tyson Evander Holyfield
Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield have announced ‘Holy Bites’, marijuana gummies in the shape of an ear.
The pair of heavyweights are considered two of the greatest ever and have had a historic rivalry. After years of failed meetings and fight talks, they first met in November 1996, with ‘Iron Mike’ putting his WBA championship on the line.
That first outing saw ‘The Real Deal’ as a massive underdog, and it looked like it early on. However, Holyfield weathered the storm and wound up winning by 11th-round TKO. They quickly settled on a rematch for the following June.
The rematch is also one of the biggest moments in boxing history, but not because of punches being thrown.
After taking a big headbutt in round two, Tyson bit Holyfield’s ear in round three. He was subsequently disqualified in one of the wildest scenes in the history of the sport.
Decades later, Mike Tyson announced his ‘Mike Bites’ through his marijuana company. They were gummies in the shape of an ear, in a not-so-subtle nod to his rematch with Evander Holyfield.
He has now brought his former foe into the marijuana business. Earlier today, the pair announced ‘Holy Bites’, an ear-shaped gummy that has THC and Delta 8 infused in it. Along with that, Tyson’s company will help Holyfield launch his own line of cannabis products next year.
Meltdown
Boxing legend Mike Tyson set the internet on fire after his controversial Good Morning Britain interview back in 2020.
The former heavyweight champion was visibly fatigued and seemingly dozed off halfway through the show. Iron Mike was there to promote his fight against Roy Jones Jr. set to take place later that year.
Tyson’s slurring and constant inattentiveness sparked concerns about his health among fans. However, Iron Mike was willing to make amends for his unprofessional conduct as he apologized for this in another interview with Morgan.
Tyson appeared on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show where Morgan congratulated Iron Mike for not conducting himself like last time.
“Thank you very much for being with me and for being so completely on fire compared to last time. I’m just so glad that you didn’t fall asleep immediately.” Said Morgan.
In an act of humbleness, Tyson then apologized for his actions, claiming that he was ashamed of it. “Please forgive me. Me and my wife were viewing it and oh man. I’m so ashamed.” Said Tyson.
