Claiming his first belt at 20 years, four months, and 22 days old, Tyson holds the record as the youngest boxer ever to win a heavyweight title.

He was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, as well as the only heavyweight to unify them in succession.

The following year, Tyson became the lineal champion when he knocked out Michael Spinks in 91 seconds of the first round.

In 1990, Tyson was knocked out by underdog Buster Douglas in one of the biggest upsets in history.

Mike Tyson Health

Mike Tyson has revealed he is suffering from a rare health condition named Sciatica after photos emerged showing the former heavyweight champion of the world in a wheelchair.

Concerns for the health of Tyson were heightened last month when photos from an airport showed him wheelchair-bound while also clutching a walking stick.

However, Tyson sought to clarify speculation surrounding his health in an interview with Newsmax TV this month.

‘I have sciatica every now and then, it flares up. When it flares up, I can’t even talk! Thank God it’s the only health problem I have. I’m splendid now,’ he said.

‘Everybody in my house is truly blessed and we’re all very grateful for whatever we have.’

The condition impacts nerve endings in the body with Tyson appearing to be suffering with complications related to his back.

Sciatica

In a recent interview with controversial outlet Newsmax Tyson revealed that he was in a wheelchair due to issues with sciatica, a nerve condition that can cause severe pain throughout the back, legs and buttocks.

“Thank God it’s the only health problem I have. I’m splendid now,” he continued. “Everybody in my house is truly blessed and we’re all very grateful for what we have.”

The 56-year-old Tyson returned to the boxing ring in 2020, for the first time in seventeen years, to face Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout.

Since then Tyson has hinted at further exhibition bouts, possible against former foe Evander Holyfield.

More recently Tyson has been making news for his reaction to a Jake Paul sparring sessions. Famed trainer Freddie Roach said Tyson walked out of that session after thirty minutes, apparently because he was so unimpressed by the influencer turned pro boxer.

Paul has jumped on those claims and charged Tyson with being “scared” to face him.

Paul himself has another aging combat sports legend to worry about. He’s due to box former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva on October 29.

Mike Tyson wife

The most explosive love affair Mike had came at the height of his fame with Robin Givens.

They married 11 months after their first date, on which they were reportedly joined by her mother and publicist.

“My social skills consisted of putting a guy in a coma,” he wrote in his memoir, ‘Undisputed Truth’.

“So maybe Robin was just what the doctor ordered.”

You could’ve forgiven Tyson for swearing off marriage after his experience with Givens.

But in 1997 he said ‘I do’ to Turner in a quiet Muslim ceremony, seven years after they first met.

The pair stayed in touch, even when Tyson was convicted of raping 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington and sent to an Indiana jail for three years.

Every two weeks Turner visited Tyson in prison as their romance blossomed.

Kiki, 43, first met Tyson aged 18, when they were introduced by promoter Don King after one of his bouts.

However, it wasn’t until the early noughties that they began dating, and they married in 2009 – two weeks after the death of Tyson’s daughter, Exodus.

But, despite the longevity of their marriage, it’s been fraught with difficulties and suggestions of infidelity.

Tyson said back in January that he had only been faithful to Spicer for the last two years of their marriage in an interview on rapper T.I.’s ExpediTIously podcast.

In an interview with Newsmax TV earlier in September, however, the boxer sought to bring more clarity on his physical condition.

‘I have sciatica every now and then, it flares up. When it flares up, I can’t even talk! Thank God it’s the only health problem I have. I’m splendid now,’.

“Everybody in my house is truly blessed and we’re all very grateful for whatever we have.’
