“Thank you so much for the love and support you’ve shown me and my family. It is truly unreal,” Hyde tweeted Saturday. “Bills Mafia, we love you! #23in23”

Earlier Saturday, Hyde’s agent, Jack Bechta, wrote on Twitter that a healthy return in 2023 is expected for Hyde, who is under contract with the Bills through next season.

Coach Sean McDermott declined to get into details when asked about Hyde’s injury throughout the week.

“[Hyde and cornerback Dane Jackson, who is also dealing with a neck injury] both seem to be moving around or walking around or in the building here,” McDermott said Friday. “And they’re in there going about their business, trying to improve each and every day. Obviously not going to make this game. Other than that, I don’t have anything else for you at this point. We’re just going to work with them on their cadence and their timing at this point.”

The Buffalo Bills suffered a huge blow to their secondary this weekend when the team placed starting safety Micah Hyde on injured reserve with a neck injury, according to his agent, Jack Betcha.

Hyde, who has been a steady fixture for the Bills’ defense over the past six seasons, received hospital care after suffering a neck injury during their 41-7 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 2.

Hyde did not practice this week for the Bills and he had already been ruled out for Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins. Now, his season is over.

Hyde had seven tackles over the first two games of the Bills’ 2022 campaign. Last year, Hyde was a second-team All-Pro who tallied 74 combined tackles, five interceptions and one sack in 17 starts for Buffalo.

The Bills still have one of the most talented pass defenses in the league, but losing Hyde is undoubtedly a major subtraction for the NFL’s top defense through two weeks.

Buffalo ranks No. 2 in passing yards allowed and No. 1 in passing touchdowns allowed.

On Saturday afternoon, the Bills placed Hyde on injured reserve.

Hyde went to the hospital for observation Monday night after being hit in the head and neck area late in the third quarter. He was released later that night after undergoing medical tests.

The Bills announced the signings of defensive tackles Brandin Bryant and Prince Emili to the active roster from the practice squad.

The team also elevated cornerback Ja’Marcus Ingram and center Greg Mancz from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. They were standard elevations.

When head coach Sean McDermott refused to comment on Hyde’s whereabouts in the first few days of practice for Week 3’s matchup with the Miami Dolphins, things looked suspicious.

Today, all of those concerns, fears, and suspicions were validated. Hyde’s agent, Jack Bechta, announced that he would be having surgery and will be out for the remainder of 2022. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network called it a herniated disc.

Wife

Micah married Amanda Kamiksisian on 7th July 2018 at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel.

The couple welcomed their first child, Micah, Jr., in March 2020. They welcomed their second child, Maverick Hudson Hyde, in August 2021.

“How can life get any sweeter than this? She’s here,” Amanda wrote on Instagram following Hudson’s birth. Amanda also announced that she wants two more children with Micah.

She also praised Micah’s support as a husband and father: “You [Micah] are everything to us, and the most comforting feeling of all is not only knowing that our babies get to have your as their Dada, but knowing they’ll be able to see and feel how fiercely you love each and every single one of us.”

Micah and Amanda met in San Diego, where Micah spent the off-season. The two started dating before Hyde told her that he was an NFL player.

Amanda found out that Micah played for the Green Bay Packers via her friends, but she still didn’t believe it. She accepted reality when Hyde had to leave for the season.

The couple approached the prospect of a long-distance relationship with optimism. “He promised me that we would never feel the weight of the distance and we never did,” Amanda said on Better Half of the Bills. “I saw him almost every single week and it worked out.”

Micah planned a dream proposal for Amanda featuring their close friends and family. Hyde popped the question as soon as the couple boarded a boat filled with their loved ones. “It was so perfect,” Amanda said.

Amanda described the couple’s July 2018 wedding as a fairy tale. The couple had a typical wedding ceremony and a second one that celebrated Amanda’s Arab roots.
