Rabbitohs superstar Latrell Mitchell has been named for Friday’s blockbuster despite being absent from training on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, with the season on the line Broncos coach Kevin Walters has swung the axe, dropping a young gun.
Elsewhere, Penrith will enjoy the luxury of resting several stars with the minor premiership already wrapped up.
With Burgess and Milne off, Souths spent nine minutes down to 11 men in the first half but, with customary courage, managed to keep the Roosters at bay and even scored through ex-Rooster turned Rabbitioh Latrell Mitchell.
The relentless booing of Mitchell by Roosters supporters for the second week in a row was relegated to a footnote in an explosive opening 40 minutes but the ‘Taree Ferrari’ was assured and chased his try by kicking five goals from as many attempts.
House
NRL player Latrell Mitchell has spent $4.275 million on a spectacular five-bedroom home in Ramsgate Beach, in Sydney’s south.
The Rabbitohs fullback, 25, has set a new record for the suburb with his purchase of the single-storey, three-bathroom spread, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Located on Botany Bay, 18.6km from Sydney’s CBD, the 897sqm architecturally designed home was originally built in 2018 for $700,000.
Mitchell, who shares two children with wife Brielle Mercy, announced the sale on Instagram.
The couple, who are based in Chiefly in a home worth $1.45million, indicated they would be moving into their new bayside digs soon.
The chic and modern home, located close to the shoreline of Botany Bay, features irrigated lawns and gardens, a barbecue terrace and swimming pool.
There is a resort atmosphere inside, with spacious living areas and an open-plan design.

Latrell Mitchell is the NRL’s premier player and the off-contract South Sydney superstar should be compensated accordingly in his next deal, according to Anthony Mundine.
The 23-year-old is entering the final season of the two-year deal he signed with the Rabbitohs 12 months ago following his shock exit from the Sydney Roosters.
Mitchell turned down a two-year, $1.6 million offer from the Roosters in 2019 before signing a $1.4 million non-guaranteed deal to join arch-rivals the Bunnies.
The two-time premiership-winning centre made a slow start to his first season at Redfern but proved his doubters wrong with several outstanding performances at full-back.
A serious hamstring injury suffered in Round 16 cut his 2020 campaign short after 14 games.
Mitchell returned to pre-season training several weeks ago and is aiming to return for next month’s All Stars game in Townsville.
