In 2009, for the BBC show Top Gear, Block took James May out for Gymkhana-style driving at Block’s stunt course at Inyokern Airport, an operational California airport, also starring Ricky Carmichael.

In 2010 Block took the feature car from the previous episode (a Reliant Robin) for a lap of the Top Gear test track. He rolled the car and was unable to complete a lap but was unhurt.

Pro Rally driver, action sports legend and DC Shoes co-founder, Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile incident near his home in Utah, USA. He was 55 years and is survived by his wife, Lucy, and his three daughters.

The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office in Utah, USA, released the following statement on Ken Block’s death.

“On January 2, 2023, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Wasatch County 911 Centre received a call reporting a snowmobile accident in the Mill Hollow area.

Search and Rescue, along with law enforcement from Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, Utah State Parks and the U.S. Forest Service responded.

The driver, Kenneth Block, 55-year-old male out of Park City, Utah, was riding a snowmobile on a steep slope when the snowmobile upended, landing on top of him.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident. Mr. Block was riding with a group but was alone when the accident occurred.”

What happened to 

The accident occurred in Utah’s Wasatch County. The local Sheriff’s Office said that Block was riding on a steep slope when the snowmobile upended and landed on top of him.

“It’s with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today,” Hoonigan said in a statement on posted to Instagram on Monday.

“Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed.”

“He was pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident,” they said in a statement, adding that he was riding in a group but was alone when the accident occurred.

Having begun his rallying career in 2005, Block was named Rookie of the Year in the Rally America Championship. He competed in the World Rally Championship and won several rallycross medals at the X Games.

The American also co-founded sportswear company DC Shoes and produced the Gymkhana video series, which featured him driving on dangerous tracks and obstacle courses. Also The series racked up millions of views on YouTube.
