Bianchi had previously raced in Formula Renault 3.5, GP2 and Formula Three and was a Ferrari Driver Academy member. He entered Formula One as a practice driver in 2012 for Sahara Force India.

In 2013, he made his debut driving for Marussia, finishing 15th in his opening race in Australia and ended the season in 19th position without having scored any points.

His best result that year was 13th at the Malaysian Grand Prix. In October 2013, the team confirmed that he would drive for the team the following season.

In the 2014 season, he scored both his and the Marussia team’s first points in Formula One at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Jules Bianchi Tractor 

Lando Norris took to Twitter to vent his outrage after a tractor was left on track during the stop-start Japanese Grand Prix, with Pierre Gasly passing the vehicle at high speed in a dangerous wet Suzuka. 

The McLaren driver was not alone either, with Red Bull’s Sergio Perez claiming that it was a similar ‘mistake’ that led to the untimely death of French driver Jules Bianchi in 2015.

The race was red-flagged almost immediately after lights out, but after a lengthy delay the time-limited race eventually resumed, with Max Verstappen leading the way in pursuit of his second world championship. 

McLaren’s Norris took to social media, writing: ‘Wtf. How’s this happened!? We lost a life in this situation years ago. 

‘We risk our lives, especially in conditions like this, We wanna race. But this… Unacceptable.’

And Red Bull’s Mexican driver Perez followed his rival by saying: ‘How can we make it clear that we never want to see a crane on track? 

Death 

Nine months after a horrific accident at the 2015 Japanese Grand Prix, Marussia F1 driver Jules Bianchi passed away in a French hospital at the age of just 25.

Bianchi’s death was the first fatality from injuries sustained in a race since the death of Aryton Senna in 1994 at the San Marino Grand Prix in Imola.

The 21 years gap from Senna’s death to Bianchi’s death was a safety record in F1 with no fatalities, thereby highlighting the danger involved in the sport.

During a yellow flag period, Bianchi slid off the track at high speed and ran under a crane vehicle that was removing another car from the track after an accident. The accident led to severe brain damage, and Bianchi never regained consciousness.

After the horrific accident, the International Automobile Federation (FIA), F1’s governing body, set up a panel to analyze its cause and the safety measures that could be taken to prevent another tragedy.

The investigation results into Jules Bianchi’s death was concluded citing no fault of F1’s procedures. Instead, Bianchi was blamed for not slowing down enough under the double waved yellow flags. However, several fans and members of the media criticized the report, which was commissioned by the federation’s president, Jean Todt.

His death came as a huge shock to all in the field of F1 racing as well as his fans. And when Charles Leclerc reminisced his death via an Instagram post many began wondering what happened to Jules Bianchi.

This F1 driver and Ferrari academy member, was 25 when he died which is one main reason why many were unable to digest the fact that Jules Bianchi died.

F1 Driver died because of an accident that happened at the 2014 F1 Japanese GP. Though he did not die immediately, he died from the injuries sustained almost nine months after the accident.

The death of Formula One: Jules Bianchi, made him the first Formula One driver to be killed by injuries sustained during a Grand Prix since Ayrton Senna.

His family had released a statement after the death of Jules Bianchi: F1 driver when many began raising the question of what happened to Jules Bianchi. Here is a gist of the statement. 

“It is with deep sadness that the parents of Jules Bianchi, Philippe and Christine, his brother Tom and sister Mélanie, wish to make it known that Jules passed away last night at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire in Nice. Jules fought to the end, as he has always done, but yesterday his battle ended. We feel an immense and indescribable pain.”
