Jonathan Gannon is an American football coach who is the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL).
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Gannon attended Saint Ignatius High School where he was a successful three-sport athlete, winning a state championship in basketball as a point guard, a district champion as a hurdler in track, and was also a standout wide receiver and defensive back.
Gannon went on to play at the University of Louisville until he suffered a career-ending injury. He remained with the program as a volunteer assistant during the 2003–2005 seasons.
He was a graduate assistant the next season for Louisville’s win in the 2006 Orange Bowl.

Gannon interviewed with the Cardinals on Monday after losing Super Bowl LVII to the Kansas City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium, so he didn’t have to travel far to meet with owner Michael Bidwill and general manager Monti Ossenfort.
Gannon will be taking over for Kliff Kingsbury, who was fired after four seasons at the helm.
Though he was able to lead Arizona to a playoff appearance during the 2021 season, the Cardinals were mostly disappointed by his overall body of work.
There’s hope that Gannon – who has seen success at the NFL level as opposed to Kingsbury – can help turn the Cardinals around both on and off the field.
Gannon (40-years-old) first got his start in the league as a quality control coach with the Atlanta Falcons in 2007.
He then occupied a similar role with the Tennessee Titans before taking a job with the Minnesota Vikings in 2014 as their assistant defensive backs coach.
In 2018, he moved to the Indianapolis Colts to accept a promotion as their primary defensive backs coach before heading to Philadelphia as their defensive coordinator in 2021.
Jonathan Gannon Dad
Jonathan Gannon was born to his beloved Father, James Gannon. Many people have assumed his Father as Rich Gannon, having shared the same surname and occupation, but that is not the case.
Likewise, James was not involved in a football-related field but supported him highly in his career goals. He worked in painting and wallpapering houses.
As per The Athletic, his Father is no more in this world, and he passed away in 2009 at 58 years old when Gannon was 26. During his moment with Jonathon, he shared moral lessons to follow in life.
Moreover, he addressed two principles: Treat people the right way and try your hardest. With that, he tries to shape his deeds wisely. Since he has maintained a low profile, his personal updates are not prompt.
