Injury
Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon (ankle) is off the injury report and good to go for Thursday night against the Dolphins.
Mixon left Week 3 against the Jets early with an ankle injury but was able to get in a full practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, so this shouldn’t be something that limits his production tonight.
The 26-year-old has been fairly disappointing to begin the season, as he has yet to find the end zone through three games.
Still, Mixon is getting elite usage as a workhorse back, giving him weekly RB1 appeal for fantasy managers. He can be treated as a mid-range RB1 option in Week 4.
Mixon practiced in full on Wednesday, indicating he might not even be “questionable” ahead of Thursday’s game.
Mixon is not on the Bengals’ final injury report, so he’ll be a full go on Thursday night.
Joe mixon fantasy 2022
Joe Mixon is among my five running backs to avoid for Week 4 of the fantasy football season. Austin Ekeler leads my Top 30 weekly rankings for the position.
Josh Jacobs, Jeff Wilson Jr., Clyde Edwards-Helaire and J.K. Dobbins are among the other players I would try to keep out of my lineup.
Week 3 performance, opportunity, strength of Week 4 opponents and expected game script are among the factors I considered when determining the players to avoid. My full Top 30 rankings are below.
Joe Mixon fantasy was likely a first- or second-round pick in your fantasy draft and can usually be counted on as an RB1.
He should probably stay in your lineup this week, but temper your expectations for the Cincinnati Bengals running back.
Mixon is my No. 16 option this week and can be used as an RB2. I would only replace him in your starting lineup if you are very deep at the position. The Bengals will host the Miami Dolphins on Thursday in Cincinnati.
Joe mixon stats
Coming out of college, some analysts and scouts graded Mixon as a first-round talent but projected him to be selected in the third or fourth round due to his prior history.
He was ranked the fifth-best running back by NFLDraftScout.com, the fourth-best by Sports Illustrated, and the third-best back by Pro Football Focus.

During Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings, Mixon finished with 127 rushing yards and a touchdown as the Bengals won 27–24 in overtime and In Week 11, against the Las Vegas Raiders, he had 121 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
In Week 12, Mixon had 165 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a 41–10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, earning AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
In December, Mixon was selected to his first Pro Bowl, making him the first Bengals running back to make the Pro Bowl since Rudi Johnson in 2004.
On January 5, 2022, Mixon was revealed to have tested positive for COVID-19, and thus could not play in the season finale.
Overall, Mixon finished the 2021 season with a career high 1,205 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns to go along with 42 receptions for 314 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.
Mixon’s 13 rushing touchdowns were the most by a Bengals player since Ickey Woods had 15 in the 1988 season.
News
The Bengals drove 75-yards on their opening drive and Joe Mixon capped it off with a 5-yard touchdown run. He carried defenders into the end zone with the help of his offensive line.
Mixon is my No. 16 option this week and can be used as an RB2. I would only replace him in your starting lineup if you are very deep at the position. The Bengals will host the Miami Dolphins on Thursday in Cincinnati.
The allowed just 168 rushing yards to running backs through three weeks this season, the third-fewest in the league. They also allowed just one score to the position.
Mixon totaled just 23 yards on 12 carries in Week 3 and 57 yards on 19 carries in Week 2. I expect another subpar outing in Week 4, but a touchdown could salvage an otherwise pedestrian performance.
He’ll start and will likely dominate carries again, but the Bengals haven’t been able to run the ball effectively this season, with Mixon averaging just 2.8 yards per carry.
The expected volume he’ll get makes Mixon a must-start player in most leagues, even as the Bengals offense has thus far struggled to find its footing through three weeks.
