He has won the UEFA Europa League, FA Cup, FA Community Shield, and EFL Cup, becoming one of only three players to score in all of the latter three finals.

Lingard made his senior debut while on loan at Leicester City in 2012, and spent time on loan at Birmingham City and Brighton & Hove Albion during the 2013–14 season and at Derby County in 2015.

He broke into the Manchester United first-team under Louis van Gaal in 2015, and was a regular in the side until 2018, when he fell out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjær and struggled to regain his place in the side.

A productive loan spell with West Ham United in 2021 saw Lingard rediscover his form, scoring nine goals in 16 appearances.  returned to Manchester United for one more season until he was released at the end of the 2021-22 season.

Premier League

The former Manchester United midfielder is also considering a lucrative offer from Abu Dhabi but a move to MLS has been ruled out, sources added.

Lingard also has an offer on the table from a club in Saudi Arabia and a final decision about his next move is expected before Friday.

The 29-year-old is a free agent after officially leaving Old Trafford following the expiration of his contract at the end of June.

He has been training alone during the summer break and will join up with his new club on the completion of the deal.

Forest

After the star left Manchester United this summer, he was tipped to to rejoin West Ham, where he enjoyed a hugely successful loan spell.

Forest play West Ham tomorrow, with some Hammers fans even ready to throw fake money at the 29-year-old.

Eyebrows were raised when he instead opted for newly-promoted Forest and Sky pundits Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville were among the most vocal in condemning his decision.

He was also branded a mercenary by many fans for a move which sees him become comfortably Forest’s highest earner on a reported £115,000 a week, which can rise to £150,000 with bonuses.

But Lingard has already spoken of how the club made him feel loved.

And he told Soccer AM: “For me it’s nonsense, I don’t like to read into a lot of stuff too much, it was my decision.

Transfer 

Nottingham Forest pulled off its biggest signing since clinching a return to the Premier League by bringing in Jesse Lingard on a free transfer.

The England midfielder was available after ending his 22-year association with Manchester United during the offseason.

Lingard’s move to Forest was announced late Thursday. He is the 11th signing made by the promoted club as it prepares for a first season back in the Premier League since 1999.

The 29-year-old Lingard spent the second half of the 2020-21 season on loan at West Ham, scoring nine goals in 16 starts in the league, and he was linked with a permanent move to the London club.
