Led by then-head coach Lon Kruger, OU was one of the last teams to offer Hill a scholarship. The four-star prospect officially visited Norman on Sept. 1, 2018, and Kruger arrived at the Hill household soon afterward to further make his pitch.

It was a pitch Hill’s mother, Chris Hill, had heard from numerous other coaches. But when Kruger asked the family what it thought about OU, Jalen made a surprising statement.
