Gabriel Jesus knee injury
Brazil’s forward Gabriel Jesus and defender Alex Telles have both been ruled out of the rest of the FIFA World Cup after picking up injuries in their final Group G game against Cameroon, the country’s football association said on Saturday.
Telles was substituted in the 54th minute of Brazil’s 1-0 defeat by the African side, with Jesus leaving the pitch 10 mintues later.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Gabriel Jesus will miss the rest of the FIFA World Cup 2022 tournament because of having pain in his knee. The report adds that the Arsenal striker could be out of action until January.
This will not only be a huge blow for Brazil but also for the Gunners, who currently sit at the top of the Premier League table with 37 points, five points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
As for Alex Telles, Brazilian outlet Ge Globo has reported that the 29-year-old will take no further part in the FIFA World Cup 2022 tournament because of pain in his knee.
While an injury to Jesus will most likely be a massive blow for Brazil, they do have several options that are more than capable of providing a similar level of quality to him.
As for Telles, a replacement option may be more difficult to find with Juventus left-back Alex Sandro also injured.

On Saturday, Neymar returned to training on the pitch for the first time since suffering an ankle injury in Brazil’s 2-0 win over Serbia, warming up with his teammates and participating in drills before doing specific recovery work accompanied by strength coach Ricardo Rosa.
Neymar posted an Instagram message later on Saturday, saying “Verified I feel good, I knew that I would now” and also posted “Strength and Faith” messages of encouragement for Gabriel Jesus and Telles in his Instagram Stories.
Injury
Gabriel Jesus is set to miss the rest of the World Cup after sustaining a knee injury, according to reports.
The Arsenal forward was forced to come off during Brazil’s 1-0 defeat to Cameroon in the final game of the World Cup group stages after suffering with pain in his right knee.
But Now football.london understands that the 25-year-old has been ruled out for three to four weeks after scans detected an injury.
Those same reports claim that Jesus had been dealing with discomfort during some matches for Arsenal as they opened up a five point lead at the top of the Premier League before the World Cup break.
Also Assuming the reports are accurate this would see Jesus miss the Gunners first competitive game back against West Ham on Boxing Day at the Emirates Stadium. There is hope that he will be able to return by January though.
