In 2004, at the age of three, he moved to Bryne, his parents’ hometown in Norway.

Erling Haaland announced himself to the Premier League in style as he scored his first hattrick on English soil on Saturday.
The champions looked way out of their depth in the first half when a disciplined Crystal Palace took them to task, going 2-0 up at the break with a John Stones own goal and a Joachim Andersen header. City looked out of sorts and Haaland appeared despondent.
All that would change in the second half as City would come out with all guns blazing with Bernardo Silva kickstarting their revival with a deflected effort.
Haaland would then show the world why he is rated so highly and scored 3 goals in the space of 19 minutes to bring drag his side to victory.

His performance for Manchester City on Saturday continued a hot start for the young star.
He completed the hat trick in the 81st minute, bursting through two defenders to blast one past Vicente Guaita off of a beautiful through ball from Ilkay Gundogan.
With the hat trick, Haaland has six goals in his first four Premier League matches, and becomes the first player this year to score three times in a game.

Haaland was named by manager Lars Lagerbäck to the Norway senior team squad on 28 August 2019, to face Malta and Sweden in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying matches; he made his senior national team debut on 5 September 2019 against Malta.

On 11 October, Haaland scored his first international hat-trick in Norway’s 4–0 win over Romania in a Nations League B match, bringing his tally for the senior team to six goals in six matches played.
During the September 2021 international break, Haaland scored five goals in three World Cup qualification matches, including a second hat-trick for Norway in a 5–1 victory against Gibraltar.
