Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz has hit out at a TV host after he posted a video seemingly objectifying his girlfriend Alisha Lehmann.
Douglas Luiz : Transfer | Girlfriend | Alisha Lehmann
Douglas Luiz Soares de Paulo, known as Douglas Luiz, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Premier League club Aston Villa and the Brazil national team.
|Full name||Douglas Luiz Soares de Paulo|
|Date of birth||9 May 1998|
|Place of birth||Rio de Janeiro, Brazil|
|Height||1.75 m (5 ft 9 in)|
Douglas Luiz is a product of the Vasco da Gama academy in Rio de Janeiro.
He was signed at the age of 19 by Manchester City in 2017, but never played a competitive match during his time at the club due to work permit difficulties, being loaned out to La Liga side Girona twice. Aston Villa signed Luiz in July 2019.
He is an Olympic champion, winning gold at the 2020 Summer Olympics Men’s Football Final.
Arsenal transfer target Douglas Luiz could ‘end up joining’ the Gunners, according to journalist Simon Phillips.
The Brazil international shot to prominence with heavy speculation on the final day of the summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta sought to bring in a new central midfielder before the 11pm deadline.
According to football.london, the Gunners made three deadline day bids for the 24-year-old – starting with £20m and culminating with a final £25m offer.
However, much to Arsenal’s frustration, Premier League rivals Aston Villa remained firm on their reported £40m asking price.
Despite this, Luiz’s contract with the Midlands outfit expires next summer, so he will be able to speak with clubs from abroad in the near future about a potential free transfer.
Therefore, Luiz – who has previously been hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by his former Villa boss Dean Smith – may want to see out the rest of his contract with the Villains, potentially opting to join Arsenal on a free transfer next summer instead.
Given that Arteta is not overflowing with central midfield options, and that the 24-year-old ranks highly among positional peers in Europe’s top five leagues for pressures, goal-creating actions and corner kick deliveries, the Brazilian could be a tremendous prospective addition at the Emirates Stadium.
Douglas Luiz Girlfriend
Aston Villa women’s team forward Alisha Lehmann has confirmed that she is in a relationship with Douglas Luiz of the men’s team.
The couple confirmed in November 2021 that they were dating, after Lehmann’s breakup with Paris Saint-Germain’s Ramona Bachmann.
Lehman posted a picture of her and Luiz passionately kissing on her Instagram with a caption that said: “Te amo” which translates to “Love you”
Luiz responded in the comments by saying “I love you amor”.
Before dating Luiz, Lehmann was in a relationship with her compatriot and PSG forward Ramona Bachmann.
The love story of the two women became a BBC documentary, where Lehmann confessed that Bachmann was her idol growing up. Lehmann is 23-years-old and has over six million followers on Instagram.
Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann is a relationship made at Villa Park, and the Aston Villa midfielder certainly leapt to his girlfriend’s defence when he called out a TV presenter over his ‘bulls***’
Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz leapt to the defence of fellow Villa star and girlfriend Alisha Lehmann.
The Arsenal and Liverpool transfer target ripped into Brazilian television presenter Milton Neves, who appeared to be objectifying the Swiss international.
Neves retweeted a video of Lehmann celebrating a goal in Villa’s 4-3 victory against Manchester City in the FAWSL, alongside the caption, ‘without rewinding the video, what number was on her shirt?’
The controversial 71-year-old presenter retweeted the video to his 2.2million followers, before eventually opting to delete his contribution. However, that was not until after Luiz ripped into the broadcaster on social media.
“You’re old,” Luiz began in Twitter. “Years in soccer and you post a video that does not respect women’s soccer or the player herself, who is also my girlfriend.
“You have not learned what respect is, that’s bulls***.” As well as starring for Villa, Lehmann is also a Swiss international who has also played for West Ham United and Everton.
The video depicts a slow motion shot of Lehmann celebrating her goal, after she opened the scoring for the Clarets in their stunning victory over Manchester City at Villa Park. As she jumps in the air and turns her back, the clip begins to zoom in on her backside.
