White was born in Manchester, Connecticut, to June and Dana White Sr., on July 28, 1969.
He is an Irish American. White spent many of his early years residing in Ware, Massachusetts.
White and his sister, Kelly, were raised by their mother and her family for the majority of their childhoods.
White’s mother was a nurse, and the family moved to Las Vegas when White was in third grade, as Vegas offered higher wages for nurses.

UFC President Dana White and his wife ended up in a physical altercation during a New Year’s Eve party.
According to media reports, the MMA business pioneer and his wife were partying in El Squid Roe in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, when the couple had a heated dispute resulting in both slapping each other.
The couple was accompanied by friends to celebrate the New Year before things got ugly between Dana and Anne.
A video published by TMZ showed Dana leaning to say something to his wife, which angered her, and she slapped him. The UFC boss retaliated and slapped her twice before those present separated them.
Per media reports, those at the venue said both Dana and Anne were highly intoxicated, and things went wild instantly.
However, the eyewitnesses said the situation de-escalated within a minute.
Responding to the incident, Dana White reiterated that a man should never put his hands on a woman and said he was embarrassed to be caught in the same situation.
The UFC honcho confirmed that he and his wife had been drinking heavily on the night.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) chief Dana White stirred a controversy after he was caught on camera hitting his wife Anne in the face during a new year’s eve party at a Mexico bar. He has now issued an apology for his behaviour.
“My wife and I were out Saturday night on New Year’s Eve. Unfortunately, that is what happened. I am one of the guys who say there is never, ever an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman and now here I am on TMZ talking about it,” he was quoted as saying by TMZ.
“People are going to have their opinions on this and people’s opinions would be right, especially in my case. You don’t put your hands on a woman, ever,” he added.
53-year-old White and his wife Anne were celebrating New Year’s Eve at El Squid Roe in Cabo San Lucas. A Video from the club showed White saying something to Anne, who reacted by slapping him. He then slapped her back.
“To say this is out of character for him is an understatement – nothing like this has ever happened before. Unfortunately, we were both drinking too much on New Year’s Eve and things got out of control, on both sides. We’ve talked this through as a family and apologised to each other,” Anne was quoted by TMZ as saying.

Meanwhile, speaking to TMZ on Monday, the UFC boss apologized for the altercation while saying there is no excuse for what happened. As reported by ESPN, he said, ‘You’ve heard me say over the years, ‘There is never, ever an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman,’ and now here I am on TMZ talking about it. My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years. We’ve known each other since we were 12 years old and We’ve obviously been through some s— together. We’ve got three kids’.
