Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Al Nassr till June 2025 in a humongous deal that counts over €200 million.

It’s a huge moment for football in Middle East as this deal speaks about the popularity of the sport and how new dynamics are shaping up in club-based football.

The deal was made official after the club made the announcement on social media. In the social media post, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is seen holding the team jersey which was captioned as “history in the making.”

“This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves,” the club wrote.

According to a statement released in various media reports, Ronaldo said he was “eager to experience a new football league in a different country.”

Al Nassr is a Riyadh-based club established in 1955. Also It is one of the most successful clubs in the Middle East as it has won the domestic league nine times, six King’s Cups, three Crown Prince’s Cups, two Saudi Super Cups, and three Federation Cups.

Club’s other notable achievements include Asian Cup Winners’ Cup and the Asian Super Cup.

Last season, the club finished third in the league and was kicked out of the domestic cup competition and the AFC Champions League by Al Hilal. This season, the club sits at the second spot, just behind Al-Shabab.

The club was founded by Zeid Bin Mutlag in 1955 and in 1960 when Al Nassr went professional, Abdul Rahman bin Saud Al Saud became the head of the club.

Also it follows a presidential system and is administered by Saudi Arabian princes and Sheikhs.

Currently, Masli Al-Muamr is the president of Al Nassr.
