The specialized fitness website ‘Bisandtris’ is the one who first broke the news, although it has not confirmed the causes of death. “Throughout his career, Chad won multiple NPC competitions and reached the prestigious Mr. Olympia stage,” the publication recalls.

Beginning his career in bodybuilding in 2000, McCrary quickly became a respected figure in the community, winning numerous competitions and inspiring countless others with his resilience and determination.

He was not just a champion in the sport but also a champion in life, earning him the reputation of being ‘just an all-around good man’.

Chad McCrary, who won several bodybuilding championships throughout his career, was left paralyzed from the waist down after suffering a serious accident while riding his dirt bike in a cross-country motorcycle race 19 years ago.

Just five years into his bodybuilding career, the Texas native attempted a 100-foot triple jump when he landed hard on his back, leaving him paraplegic.

Despite the severity of his injury, McCrary did not stop doing what he loved and continued bodybuilding in a wheelchair – becoming an inspiration to many.

Without revealing the cause of death, the post said: ‘It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Chad McCrary. 

‘Throughout his career, Chad won multiple NPC shows and eventually made his way to the prestigious Mr. Olympia stage.

‘He was even invited to compete at the upcoming 2024 Arnold Classic.

‘My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, his friends, and his loved ones. Rest in Peace, Chad.’

McCrary’s brother, Lance, paid tribute to a ‘very motivated and strong-willed man- shortly after.

‘Chad was a very motivated and strong-willed man,’ he wrote. ‘I will forever hold him close to my heart.

‘He will continue to live on through me and in the lives of everyone he touched.

‘He loved the bodybuilders he competed with.’

McCrary competed in a number of IFBB PRO Contests over the years, including the Arnold Classic in 2022 – where he finished in fourth place.

His social-media account also said that he was a motivational speaker and a former paramedic
