In total he has won fifteen major trophies at Real Madrid, including five UEFA Champions Leagues, three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and three FIFA Club World Cups.
Casemiro has made his decision and will play for Manchester United. The defensive midfielder has made the decision to leave Real Madrid, then reached an agreement with the Red Devils and will be expected to pass his medical on Friday, according to reports on from the British and Spanish press.
The Brazilian midfielder will likely sign his contract with Manchester United shortly after passing his medical and the deal would be announced by both clubs shortly after, meaning that Casemiro will almost certainly not even travel with the team to face Celta Vigo this Saturday.
Manchester United will pay around €70 million to sign Casemiro away from Real Madrid and the midfielder will earn almost twice as much as his salary in the Spanish capital.
Casemiro won five Champions League titles for Real Madrid and was a crucial piece in the midfield for the last decade.
New signing Aurelien Tchouameni will be his replacement in the starting lineup.
Casemiro Transfer news
Manchester United approached Real Madrid about the possibility of signing Casemiro this week.
The club’s recruitment strategy has been lamentable this summer, but there’s no denying that Casemiro would be an outstanding signing, albeit a desperate signing.
There has been no consistency with the recruitment in this window. United have scrambled around the market and they have spent more money on John Murtough’s travel expenses than they have on midfielders.
Christian Eriksen, who has been the only midfield addition, cost nothing. The interest in Casemiro has seemingly emerged from nowhere and that has been a feature of the summer.
Although the circumstances that led the club to approach Real Madrid about Casemiro – making no progress with Frenkie de Jong and failing to agree terms with Adrien Rabiot – have been amateur, he would represent the most important signing of the summer at Old Trafford, which is ironic considering the Reds’ interest in the player has been a consequence of the club’s failures elsewhere.
Real Madrid Believes Their Star Midfielder Casemiro Has Decided To Leave For Manchester United. It was claimed that the Spanish side believes Casemiro’s exit is imminent following Manchester United’s interest in a world-class Defensive Midfielder.
He was named to the 2021 Copa América squad on 9 June 2021.
In Brazil’s third group match on 23 June, he scored the match–winning goal following a Neymar corner in injury time, to help his team defeat Colombia 2–1.
On 10 July, he started in his nation’s 1–0 defeat to rivals Argentina in the final.
