Hoyer was making his first start since 2020 and stepping in for Mac Jones, who injured his left ankle last week in the Patriots’ 37-26 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Prior to the injury, Hoyer was 5-for-6 with 37 yards passing.

Rookie quarterback Bailey Zappe went into the game to replace Hoyer.

Zappe, No. 4, was drafted in the fourth round in 2022. The 23-year-old Victoria, Texas, native is listed at 6 foot, 1 inch and 220 pounds. He played three seasons of college football at Houston Baptist and one season at Western Kentucky.

Don’t worry if some of the terminology is over your head, Brian does a great job keeping the dialogue understandable and offering practical solutions at every turn. I learned a ton in this episode, and am inspired to take action on a top-10 list of immediate steps to take to make your home safer.

The EMF issue is drastically more destructive at night because this is when we exit sympathetic mode and (ideally) enter parasympathetic dominance to facilitate rest and repair during a good night’s sleep. Hence the discussion zeroes in on optimizing your bedroom environment.

That’s right, you don’t have to get overwhelmed and further stressed about ditching your office job or your cell phone! You will be super-motivated to clean up your bedroom environment though.

And I think the most fascinating takeaway here is when Brian talks about the difference between daytime exposure and nighttime exposure to EMF.

So in the daytime we’re going, we’re hitting it hard, we’re working the cell phones, we’re doing deals, we’re in this heightened energy, sympathetic nervous system function state because we’re living a hectic, busy, productive day.

Then at nighttime per ancestral example, that’s when our body is trying to relax and unwind, and that is when we’re most vulnerable to EMF because it messes with our cellular function, promotes free radical production and spikes stress hormones.

Despite being invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, Hoyer was not selected in the 2009 NFL Draft. He signed immediately after the Draft with the New England Patriots.

With the Browns’ releases of Weeden and Campbell to free agency, Hoyer stated that he was confident that he would be the starting quarterback for the Browns, no matter who they would draft in 2014.

The Browns drafted Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Johnny Manziel with the 22nd overall pick, who was known as one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2014 NFL Draft.

On March 14, 2022, Hoyer signed a two-year contract extension with the Patriots. He was named the second-string quarterback behind Jones and ahead of rookie Bailey Zappe.

Hoyer was promoted to starter for the Week 4 matchup with the Green Bay Packers after Jones suffered an ankle injury.

However, during the game, Hoyer got injured and was replaced with third-string backup quarterback Bailey Zappe.
