Tate received attention for his tweets describing his view of what qualifies as sexual harassment amid the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases and for tweeting several statements about his view that sexual assault victims share responsibility for their assaults.
In 2017, he was criticized for tweeting that depression “isn’t real”.
Online, Tate initially became known among far-right circles through appearances on InfoWars and acquaintances with far-right figures such as Paul Joseph Watson, Jack Posobiec, and Mike Cernovich.
In 2005, Tate started practicing boxing and martial arts. In November 2008, Tate was ranked 7th best light-heavyweight kickboxer in Britain by the International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA).
Andrew Tate vs Jake paul
Jake Paul faced off with controversial ex-kickboxer Andrew Tate as the pair teased a money-spinning boxing bout.
A fight between YouTuber-turned boxer Paul and Tate has been teased ever since the four-time kickboxing world champion achieved unprecedented internet fame at the beginning of this year.
The pair have now added fuel to the fire over the potential mega-fight as Paul stared down with Tate in a boxing gym as the YouTuber’s manager Nakisa Bidarian watched on.
Paul captioned the video “negotiations” and a spokesman for Tate later told Mirror Fighting: “Negotiations have begun between the two parties, it’s a fight the fans have been asking for and it’s an event the world will remember.”
Tate has not fought in two years but has welcomed a return to the ring against Paul, who beat UFC legend Anderson Silva last month, or his older brother Logan.
The 35-year-old has been at the forefront of media attention in recent months for his controversial views, which have seen him banned from social media platforms TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
Andrew Tate next fight
An upcoming fight could pit two of the most inflammatory creators in the world against one another.
Logan Paul and Andrew Tate have both expressed interest in an upcoming match, and Paul has gone so far as to claim the event “is going to happen.”
The elder Paul brother kicked off the influencer boxing trend when he battled KSI in 2018. He later transitioned to wrestling and made his official WWE debut earlier this year.
His career as a professional heel will continue when he takes on Roman Reigns on November 5.
A clash against Tate would likely bring Paul into a new venue: The Octagon. That’s the theater of battle that Tate — a former pro kickboxer-turned-controversial social media commentator — would prefer. “If the terms are fair to both parties, I will fight Logan in the cage and destroy him,” Tate said in response to Paul’s initial challenge.
As a kickboxer, Tate compiled a record of 76 wins and nine losses, including 23 knockout victories. As a mixed martial arts fighter, Tate has competed three times, with two wins and a loss to his name.
