Peaty started training at the City of Derby swimming club in 2009, where he was coached by Melanie Marshall.

He also trained up to eight times per week at Repton School, a co-educational boarding independent school in the village of Repton in Derbyshire, and two sessions at Loughborough University.
He started to train full-time at Loughborough University in 2017.
Peaty’s first senior event was the 2013 European Short Course Swimming Championships where he achieved three personal best times in the three breaststroke events.

Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Peaty has confirmed that he and his longtime girlfriend Eiri Munro have broken up.
The Olympic swimmer announced the news on Instagram last night (August 23) by posting a photo of him and Eiri with their son George, along with a lengthy caption explaining their split.
“Eiri and I have decided to go our separate ways,” he wrote. “We have enjoyed a wonderful three years together, 2 of those with our gorgeous son George.
Our priority has always been to provide the happiest and healthiest home environment for him, and right now that means ending our romantic relationship.”

Adam Peaty has took to social media with a cryptic posts just hours after announcing his split from girlfriend Eiri Munro.
On Tuesday night the Strictly Come Dancing star and Olympic swimmer told his 609k Instagram followers that they’ve decided to go their separate ways and that he was sorry for letting Eiri and their 2-year-old son George down.
Adam, 27, has tonight posted on his Instagram story an image of him solo on a bike captioned ‘space’. The athletes face isn’t visible in the picture.
Confirming the news of the split Adam said his only interest is for the well-being of our family. Eiri told her fans that the next chapter of her life was going to be ‘incredibly difficult’.
Adam Peaty was born on 28 December 1994 in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire to Mark and Caroline Peaty, the youngest of four children.

He attended St Josephs Catholic Primary School in Uttoxeter, Painsley Catholic College in Cheadle and Derby College.
As a young boy, he developed an acute fear of water and was averse to being put in the bath after his brothers told him that sharks may come up through the plughole.
At four years of age Peaty and his friend both went on their first swimming lesson together. It was at this swimming lesson where he lost the fear.
